Primary Mission
The EMA's mission is to support the professional development and advancement of emergency managers within the Santa Clara County Operational Area. EMA promotes readiness across public and private sectors through the phases of emergency management: preparedness, mitigation/prevention, response, and recovery.

- Serve as a platform for collaboration among emergency managers and key stakeholders.
- Enhance disaster-related services for people and animals.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities.
- Share best practices and lessons learned.
- Improve communication and coordination within the emergency management community.
- Represent emergency management interests in the Santa Clara County Emergency Operational Area Council.

To uphold its mission and values, the SCCEMA requires its members and guests to adhere to the following code of ethics:
- Conduct themselves and participate in activities in a professional and businesslike manner.
- Actively engage in EMA meetings and activities on a regular basis.
- Refrain from hosting or participating in any activities that conflict with EMA's mission and values.
- Seek Executive Board approval before distributing or displaying materials at EMA events.
- Use the membership roster exclusively to contact members for discussions on emergency management topics or official EMA business.
- Refrain from using the EMA name or professional affiliation for personal or political advantage.
